Starlites Program (Ages 3 & Up)
Our Starlites program is designed to gently introduce young dancers to the joy of movement in a nurturing, structured, and creative environment. Students explore our studio space, gain awareness of their bodies, and are introduced to pre-ballet, pre-tap, and basic stretching techniques.
Beyond movement, dancers begin learning important life skills—such as listening, taking turns, following directions, and becoming comfortable participating independently from their parents—while adapting to a group setting that encourages confidence and connection.
Pre-Ballet
Ballet is the foundation of our curriculum at For The Love of Dance and serves as the building block for all dance styles. In Pre-Ballet, Starlite dancers are introduced to proper posture, balance, flexibility, and foundational movement patterns through age-appropriate exercises and imaginative exploration.
This class encourages grace, discipline, and body awareness while fostering creativity and self-expression. As students progress through FTLOD’s program levels, they will continue to build upon these essential technical skills.
Pre-Tap
Pre-Tap introduces dancers to rhythm, timing, and musicality in a fun and engaging way. Wearing tap shoes, students learn how their feet create sound as they explore beginner steps, patterns, and beats.
At the Starlite level, tap helps dancers develop coordination, listening skills, and confidence while allowing them to express themselves through movement and sound. These early experiences lay the groundwork for more complex footwork and rhythmic awareness in future classes.
